Pernel Trip

Last week Team Rua was part of the Junior Team that visited Pernel Orchard.  We began our day with making apple crumble.  While the crumble was cooking we went on the bus to Pernel Orchard.  We saw lots of different fruit trees and fruit, to pick a sweet, juicy apple from the tree and to pet the animals.  The trip around the orchard showed  us the fruit being picked, binned and taken to the pack house to be sorted and packed and stored in the chiller.  We even meet some people from Germany and France!

After lunch we enjoyed our apple crumble with ice cream!  We had such a super day!

Nga mihi nui to all the parents and grandparents that came along and helped.

What's in the box

When the children arrived this morning at school they were told a present had arrived for them.  At writing time the children had to predict what they thought was in the box.

It was really exciting to open the box to see if our predictions were right.

I wonder what the children will write tomorrow.....

At assembly on Friday all our New Entrants were given a book to welcome them to school.  The children were absolutely thrilled at receiving a book.  A big thank you to the PTA for supporting this initiative.
